Dreams
really do come true
Paul Joy and Peter Mayes - DreamLake 1
We set out to DreamLakes
on the 18th September from Merseyside with a five hour
drive in front of us to Dover. Pretty uneventful until
we hit the M25 where we were greeted with a fifteen mile
tail
back due to a bad accident. We decided to put our trip
in the hands of the sat nav and hope that it could get
us
on our way so that we could catch the coach at Dover.
Well,
it detoured us for three hours and we were starting to
think that this was the end before we had even got to Dover
but the M25 loomed on the horizon and away we went. Talk
about stress, I thought holidays make you relaxed, it was
a case of foot to the floor and get to Dover at all costs,
which we did with fifteen minutes to spare.
On arrival
at the Reylon car park met up with some guys from Norfolk,
what a bunch of great guys, bloody good laugh and easy
to get on with.
We set off to the ferry in
quick time no trouble waiting around at terminal and away
to France. Crossing smooth which I hoped for as ships and
me do not get on. Arrived at Calais at 2 in the morning
and off to DreamLakes.
We arrived at 7am totally
knackered but chomping at the bit. Bacon butty and coffee
for everyone and then to the draw and lake rules being
laid down by Matt. Do yourselves a favour, ask him for
advice about the lake and he will be more than happy to
help. It’s
your money don’t waste the chance to catch a fish
of a lifetime that’s what he is there for and what
a guy he is, total respect for you mate you work your nuts
of to make this place a top fishery as do the other guys
there. You are all a credit to the place, keep up the good
work.
Now swims drawn Ladies Lair
and Sunset, we had a lot of water to fish here and we were
hopeful that we could winkle a few out first night and
a 20.00 graced my net. Then breakfast and then it kicked
off three 40+ and five fish above 37.00 as did Peter with
the same tally three 40+ and four fish above 37.00. Bloody
hell a dream come true, all these fish in five days, we
were not complaining.
Now talk about smashing
your PB over and
over again my best was thirty pounds and two ounces in
the UK. The guy next to us George had a lovely 45.00 and
a upper thirty at the same time, good one mate. Anyway,
get onto this place, we have booked for next year hope
to meet
up with all the lads again they are all top blokes and
a good laugh and willing to help out with landing of the
fish, that to me is what fishing is about.
Once again a huge thank you
to all the team at DreamLakes you are a credit to the
place and your profession. The food was top class, good
home cooked food and the facilities clean and tidy as were
the
showers and toilets. Hope to get a fifty next time we are
there, believe me dreams do come true at this place. DreamLakes,
now there is an understatement if you ever did hear one.
See you next year Matt, keep
up the good work!!!! Paul Joy and Peter Mayes
