Matt's Master Class
(A guide to fishing DreamLakes)

DL2
The same rules apply to DL2 as previously mentioned for DL1. Get your gameplan and stick to it: find your features, mark your lines and don’t settle for ‘that’ll do’ – get it right!

The average chuck to the centre of the lake is 90-100yds and many anglers shy away from trying to reach the middle in case of encroaching on their opposite number – but do not worry; use the clipping up method before casting (as previously described in DL1) – lay down your rod, pace out 95yds, clip up…. job done!

DreamLake 2 can be very wind orientated, especially after 2 or 3 days in the same direction, but it is worth noting that fish also sit on the tail end of the wind as well as going with it. However, normally, a good distribution of anglers will keep the fish moving – once again, be prepared to be mobile.

Finally, keep your baiting tight and accurate but, if you prefer to fish a larger area and on the edges, that is your choice – in any event, stick with those spots.

Reminder: don’t forget to unclip after casting and get those lines disguised and pinned down.
