DreamLake
2, Peg 30
The features you have in
this swim are numerous, as well as the obvious one of the
tree-line. This swim has also got lots of silt pockets
and some weed does grow in the summer, but this is not
a lot though.
Depths
vary from 4ft in the margin to 7ft at a range of 70yds,
just short
of the halfway mark.
Occasional
gravel areas can be found at various distances from 30-70yds
and
with depths of 6-7ft over them. The water shelves off after 30yds
into the 7ft depth. These depths are variable with the
time of year
that you fish the venue i.e. less in the summer.
Fish the tree-line with at
least 1 rod, (2 if the wind is pushing towards it in a
southerly direction). Aerators were put into the lake just
off this tree-line last year and the fish do, at times,
congregate around them. They are, after all, a kind of "Blue
square feature". If they are on and working they are
piling oxygen into the water which can be very appealing
to the fish in the hot summer months. Bait up any tree-line
spots by going around to the tree-line and getting it accurate.
This will leave you with either 1 or 2 rods going out to
more open water depending on how you have chosen to fish.
Find your open water spot(s) and get the bait in using
a spod. Don't keep it all too tight; put a couple to either
side by 2yds or so. If the fish really push into the trees
in numbers then I would fish all 3 rods towards the tree-line
with the LHR 15yds off the branches, the MR 7-10yds off
and the RHR 1-2yds off, (I would back this off more during
the night by another 5yds). Feed these spots regularly
and decide on how much to put in by the action you are
getting on each rod.
