DreamLake
2, Pegs 17-19
These 3 pegs are at the south
end of the lake and they do tend to fish better with a
N or NE wind hacking up towards the tree-line.
This
end of the lake is slightly deeper than the north end by 1ft and
can fish better in the cooler months (November through
to March).
This is not a hard & fast rule,
but these pegs can fish really well in the colder months.
Pegs
19 and 18 have numerous features to fish to including a good number
of silt pockets with gravel patches interspersed amongst them.
The
depth of water ranges from 3ft in your own margin to 8ft at 75yds
range. The depth you will find is a fairly constant 7-8ft over
silt
and gravel areas.
Watch for fish showing at all
distances and find out what the bottom of the lake is like
where the fish are showing. Are they rolling over silt, gravel
or a weedy area? Find out and try presenting a bait to them
in a PVA bag. If a take follows then try fishing it again with
either a PVA bag or you could try to encourage them onto the
area and down onto the bait by putting half a dozen spods onto
the area. This could pay dividends!
Peg 17 has both open water features
and the tree-line to go at. Watch for fish showing and rolling
right at the tree-line in 5ft of water. I would advise you
not to fish all your rods up to trees as you are putting all
your eggs in one basket from the off! If, however, the fish
are "rammed" in there like "sardines" in
a tin, spread your rods out a bit more; for example, RHR to
the tree-line, MR put 15yds off the tree-line in 7ft of water
over a silty patch and with the LHR fish a gravel spot more
out into open water. See where the fish come from. As you move
away from the tree-line you will find you have a depth of 8ft.
Spod and feed up your open area well and try to get the fish
having it by giving them a good bit right from the start.
