DreamLake 1 Swim Guides

From a personal viewpoint, this is my favourite of the five lakes on the complex - for two reasons; firstly, I think it offers the biggest overall challenge and secondly, it was (for those who can remember) the original and only lake available to fish when I first started visiting DreamLakes.

DreamLake 1 has a lot to offer as it is a "U" shaped lake with a spit running up the middle to form the shape. This is very handy for anyone who fish's up either of the 2 arms as they can go onto it and bait up very accurately. It is also ram-packed full of features and you really are spoiled for choice of what and how to fish this lake! Your surroundings include high trees and a wide path that runs all the way around the lake with very comfortable swims.

It has an awesome head of fantastic fish in it. These include common's, mirrors, leathers and catfish. Pike are also present as are rudd/roach, but are hardly ever fished for, to my knowledge. There are at least 2 x 60lb+ carp in this lake, maybe 3, a good amount of 50lb+, an awful lot of 40lb+ fish and masses of hard fighting 30's (with some back up 20's and doubles to keep the fish coming!). Total stock in this lake of aprox 16 acres I know to be very high, (that's why I keep fishing it).

This lake cannot be classed as 'easy' and the fish are not willing to crawl out up your lines and onto the bank. Anglers who turn up with the wrong attitude, or a "chuck it and see" approach, will find that to be the case in no time at all, and to their expense. Put in the effort and the rewards can be colossal, with big fish and large numbers of them coming out often when they are angled for well. This is not a "runs" water, but the great thing is, when you get it right, IT CAN BE - with tremendous catches and very large fish very often banked. See some of the "Tails" on the website for more information.

Keep them lines tight……………Paul "Richy" Richardson.
