Top Carp this week went to Andrew Tinham (DL1-Ladies Lair-Spicy Fishmeal boilie) with a delightful 55lb 5oz common along with carp to a 44lb 15oz including 5 x 30’s to a 35lb 15oz mirror.

Top Cat went to Andy Gailer (DL4-swim 1-Active 8) with a massive 118lb specimen and setting a New Lake Record…. smashing the old record by 14lb.

Top Catch went to Steve Ash (DL2-swim 30- Active 8) with a terrific 32 fish catch that included 23 x 20’s and a 39lb Grassie…. what a beautiful looking fish!

Hot and sunny weather dominated the week with daily temps in the upper 20’s and peaking at 31C. Even night temps averaged a sultry 17C…… tans all round then!

Top Cat went to Michael Hall (DL5-swim 4-Active 8) with a 110lb specimen plus 4 x 30’s.

Top Catch went to Robert Willingham (DL2-swim 23- Active 8) with an amazing 49 fish catch that included 8 x 30’s to a 37lb 14oz mirror and 27 x 20’s.

Other 50lb + carp went to Gavin Gates (DL1-Kingfisher-Pro-Active Pineapple) who took a 50lb common in addition to a 40lb 2oz mirror and 2 x 30’s to a 35lb 6oz common among his 18 fish catch; Zen Bojko (DL2-swim 5-Active 8) with a 55lb common and Bailiff Paul Smith (DL2-swim 2-Active 8) with a 52lb 8oz common and 3 x 40’s.

Other notable catches went to:
DL1 – Ian Ashby (Ladies Lair-undisclosed boilies) with a 47lb 8oz common and 46lb 8oz mirror; Steve Benbow (Sunset-undisclosed boilies) with a 45lb common and 40lb 6oz mirror as well as 5 x 30’s to a 36lb 8oz mirror; Glynn Parker (Deer Dip-Active 8) with mirrors of 41lb 8oz and 40lb 2oz as well as 7 x 30’s to a 39lb 4oz mirror from his 29 fish catch and Nathan McGrory (Unknown-Active 8) with a 31 fish catch to a 41lb 10oz common and 4 x 30’s to 39lb.

DL2 – Carl Sheppard (swim 17-Active 8) with a 22 fish catch including cats to 65lb and carp to a 33lb 10oz common; Kyle Peck (swim 9–Active 8) with 4 x 30’s to a 37lb common; Paul Wilton (swim 26-Active 8) with cats to 49lb 10oz and carp to a 36lb 8oz common and Dave Springall (swim 29-Active 8) with a 39 fish haul to a 36lb 6oz mirror.

DL3 – Adam Motts (swim 14-Active 8) with cats to 52lb 9oz and carp to a 44lb 6oz common among his 19 fish catch and 30’s for Jamie Craine (swim 13-Source), Chris Ansell (swim 6-Active 8) and Ray Elliott-Bridge (swim 2-Active 8).

DL4 – Ian Walker (Bailiffs swim-Squid Scopex) took a New Record 104lb cat along with a 42lb mirror among his catch; Sam Walker (Bailiffs swim-Squid Scopex) had 13 fish with cats to 47lb and carp to a 32lb mirror while Andy Morgan (swim 2-Cell) had fish to a 35lb 2oz mirror.

DL5 – Philip Butler (swim 8-Active 8) took cats to 46lb and carp to a 34lb mirror; Liam Montgomery (swim 1-Pro-Active Pineappple) had fish to a 31lb mirror.

A changeable weekend soon gave way to a really nice week of weather which ended up providing plenty of glorious sunshine and lovely warm temps up to 28C (day) and 15C (night). Although it did get a little breezy towards the end of the week the temps stayed high, so it was very welcome and took the edge off the heat.

Top Carp this week went to Brian Sexton (DL2-swim 4-Pro-Active Pineapple) with a 53lb common. Peter also managed 4 x 30’s to a 35lb common among his 24 fish catch.

Top Cat went to Matthew Wallis (DL5-swim 8-Halibut boilies) with an 80lb specimen. Matthew took a 15 fish catch which also included a 79lb cat, 2 x 40’s and 5 x 30’s to a 38lb common.

Top Catch went to Rikki Condon (DL4-swim 2-Active 8) with a 34 fish haul including cats to 50lb and 10 x 30lb+ carp to 38lb.

DL4 – Tim Multon, aka ‘Bert’ (swim 4-Active-8) with 27 fish including cats to 53lb, 3 x 40lb+ carp to a 49lb 12oz common & 6 x 30’s to a 38lb leather and Gary Nelson (swim 5-DreamLake Specials) with 23 fish to a 49lb 8oz mirror including 6 x 40’s and 12 x 30’s.

DL5 – Gav Welbourn (swim 4-Active-8) with cats to 49lb and 5 x 30’s; Simon Coe (swim 5-Pineapple) with a 12 fish catch including a 48lb mirror & 3 x 30lb+ carp to a 37lb mirror and Dean Coe (swim 1-Tiger DreamLake Specials) with a 43lb 6oz mirror.

Weatherwise, the week started cloudy with some rain & showers bringing temps of just 18C (day) and 10C night, but by Monday the sunshine arrived and the temps climbed to a steady 28C (day) and 15C (night) until the unsettled weather returned on Thursday…. but with the longest day coming up on Saturday (21Jun), Summer must be just round the corner, surely?

Top Carp this week went to Peter Springer (DL3-swim 9-Assasin8) with a 58lb 2oz common. Peter also managed a 45lb common and 10 x 30’s to a 39lb mirror among his 29 fish catch.

Top Cat went to Peter Carr (DL1-Snags-Nash boilies) with a 78lb specimen. Peter took a 29 fish catch which also included 7 x 40’s to a 44lb mirror and 8 x 30’s.

Top Catch went to Peter Donoghue (DL1-Cherries-Dynamite boilies) with a 40 fish haul including 5 x 40’s to a 45lb 2oz mirror, 7 x 30’s and 2 cats to 62lb.

Other 50lb+ carp went to Nick Sheldrake (DL1-Gables-KG1) with two 51lb commons and Barry Taylor (DL1-Beach-Active 8) with a 50lb 2oz common.

DL2 – Father & son Brian and Paul Jackson (swims 26 & 25-Monster Pursuit) with a 28 fish catch including 7 x 30’s to a 39lb mirror; Shane Martin (swim 13-Pro-Active Pineapple) with 30’s to a 39lb 8oz mirror and Matthew Waspe (swim 14-Pro-Active Pineapple) with 30’s to a 32lb 8oz common.

DL3 – Steven Anderson (swim 12-Dreamlake Specials) with a 47lb common; Duane Richards (swim 13-Energy) with a 44lb 8oz common; Adam Ward (swim 4-DreamLake Specials) with a 41lb common and Matt Tucker (swim 16-Pro-Active Pineapple) with a 66lb cat.

DL4 – Oliver Eves (swim 3-Cell) with a 60lb cat and 37lb 7oz common and the Canning Family with 8 x 30’s to a 38lb 7oz mirror. Dad, Gary was in swim 1, Anthony in swim 4 and 15yr old Christopher in swim 2. They all used mainline Cell boilies and had “brilliant time” with “outstanding fishing” – that’s what we like to hear!

DL5 – John Winspear (swim 8 – Halibut boilie) with a new PB 48lb 4oz mirror.

Matt may have understated the weather as “very unsettled and windy, but warm” as they had 60hrs of non-stop rain apparently. But, nonetheless a great time was had by all. Temps peaked at a warm 25C (day) and averaged around 14C (night).

Top Cat went to 16 year old Harvey Cooper (DL3-swim8-Nash boilies & plastic corn) with a 79lb specimen.

Top Catch went to DL regular, Ron Pascoe (DL2-swim 25-Active-8) with a 38 fish haul including a stunning 53lb common, 45lb 12 oz mirror and 12 x 30’s.

Other 50lb+ carp went to Jon Read (DL1-Snags-Nash Tangee each Plus) with a 50lb 4oz common and Pete Weedon (DL3-swim 7-Nash boilies and plastic corn) with a 50lb common.

Weatherwise it seemed to be a bit of a mixed bag, with plenty of rain as well as some welcome sunshine. Temps peaked at a very warm 28C (day) and averaged around 15C (night).

Matt says that the week produced a “good amount of quality fish. Tight, accurate baiting is paying off (‘Clipping up’ is essential with tight baited areas) and the margins are producing well through the night whilst they appear to be moving out during the day”. He also suggests that you make good use of the grinders on site for making boilie crumb which, he adds, is “excellent for sticks and bags”.
