Diary: August 2010
w/e 20th August
What a start to the week!!
Sun, Mon, and Tues saw heavy rain, easing up on Tuesday,
it was going to be make or break, would the Lakes kick
off after the rain? Or would it be the “kiss of Death”???
The lads pulled it out of the bag, the latter half of the
week made up for the damp weather, it fished its head off,
and we had the last few days of summer weather.
There was a good amount of
fish all round, concentrating beds of bait is really paying
off now!! Bags and sticks (of crumbled boilies) on Lakes
1 and 2. Single hookbaits did well (as ever) on Lake 3
(one lad caned it!! More from him later.) Pop-ups and snowmen
or critically balanced hookbaits, keep the rigs simple
and your hooks sharp!!

Apart from the mid-week thunder storm.
We had Joe Morgan over for
a few days doing a spot of filming for “Carp TV” the
DVD magazine, it’s so much easier when you can watch
it rather than read it!! That’s what we thought too!!
So we got them to stay on, after doing their piece with
Rael and put together a Dreamlakes DVD brochure. Zen as
ever was lost for words!! Barty came over as a bigger “drama
queen” than that prat Louie Spence, but everything
went really well, helped no end by the great bunch of lads
on the lakes again this week.
Typically Lake 1 was a bit
temperamental with the majority of fish holed up down the “Snags” arm,
with no great change in the weather to shift them out,
and the lads fishing the arm were clever in not spooking
them out either. As much as the rest of the lads hate you
for it, well done!!
