Diary: Week 26
w/e 26th September
2009
The weather this
week was pleasant enough 22-24 degrees all week,
nice & sunny! 8 degrees at night however we are
still in the grip of that ridge of serious high air
pressure, that’s still hanging over England
and most of Northern Europe, France in particular!!!!
So far the second week running results have been
slower than usual slow for us, is still better than
most other venues though!!! It’s my Week of
this week, but as I’m writing this, I’ve
just heard that Lake 2’s just done a 60lb Common,
more on that next week!!
So I’ll start
with a quick run down of the Lakes this week, as
I am off down the pub in a bit.

Bailiff's
Diary: Week 25
w/e 18th September
2009
The weather this
week was mainly overcast, average day time temps
18 degrees, and about 8 degrees at nights, high air
pressure as well didn’t help much, in fact
we had the same horrible weather back home I’m
told.
Lake 1 would have seemed
to have suffered the most due to the conditions,
mind you they can’t all fish their heads off
week in week out, and we have been so lucky with
results all season. We are now coming up to the best
time of year October, both here and in England the
terrific months for fishing, the weather is cooler,
the carp are feeding up for this coming winter and
really putting on the weight!! |
| |

Gary Eades 55lb Common DL3 |
 |
Lakes
3-4-5, I’ll start with Lake 3
Gary Eades peg 11 took a total catch of carp
of 20 fish 9 x 30’s up to 39lbs 2 x 40’s as well
of 41lb-8oz and 45lb-11oz then rounded off the session with
a common of 55lbs-6oz’s. Gary used just 15kg of maple
mix boilies.
Tom
Reed >>> peg 2 took
a catch of 23 fish topped by 2 x 40’s, both
commons of 43lbs and the other a stunning 47lbs-8ozs.
Tom was using A-8 and M B Baits, just 8kg’s
was enough for Tom. |
| |
Terry
Stocker peg 9, took a total of 9 fish a grassie
of 43lbs–7oz’s was his best plus a bonus
cat of nigh on 60lb’s as well, just to make
sure his arms really did ache after playing those
two fish. Terry was using the ever popular Cell
and used 20kg over the week.
Bill
Boam had just
5 fish, the best a common of 44lb’s – 10oz
on his maple bird seed boilies. |
 |

Bill Boam 44lb Common DL3 |
| |

Mick Mann 44lb Common DL3 |
 |
Micky
Mann peg 7, also tied for top spot with a 23
fish catch, which included 4 x 40’s,
3 commons and a mirror. Sadly Mick’s not put
down the actual weights for me, but I know he used
15kg of maple
boilies.
Lake
4
Our old mates Dave Moult and Charlie
Last usually pay for the whole lake
and have it to themselves. >>> They’ve been regulars at DreamLakes
since
the start. |
| |
|
|
Young
Danny Last was also a bailiff for a season, till
he discovered
girls
that is!! Well Dan his Dad Charlie and Dave had one helluva week yet again.
4 has been doing really well for a small lake.
This weeks “Top
Bombin” award goes to Dave
Moult with his haul
of 61 fish, peg 2. Dave had a shed load of 20’s
and 30’s and inc. 4 x 40’s as well a
common of 44lb-12ozs and 3x40lb mirrors inc. a brace
of 45lbers. Dave used Cell and the D.L.Specials “opal”,
25kg in total. |
 |

Dave Moult 45lb Mirror DL4 |
| |

Dan Last 43lb Mirror DL4 |
 |
Charlie and Dan
Last peg 6 had almost 40 fish between them,
with fish up to 40lbs, but sadly no weights have
been written down, 10kg of Cell lasted the week.
|
| |
|
|
Lake
5
Tony Willmott >>> peg 1 took a 9 fish haul with fish up to 40lbs,
on
the
Cell.
Gary
Walker peg 4 had 7 fish up to 42lbs-8ozs
on the Active-8 10kgs.
|
 |

Gary Walker 42lb Mirror DL5 |
| |

Glen Rowlands 41lb Common DL2 |
 |
Lake
2
Top rod on 2 this week would be Glen
Rowlands peg 20,
with a 24 fish catch with fish up to 40lbs, taken on 10kg
of the Cell.
John
Payne >>> peg 23 had
a 9 fish catch with carp up to 42lbs-12ozs on the
Active-8.
John
Greenslade >>> peg 10 had a total
of 20 fish for the session, the best a 40lb common,
taken
on Mainlines “New Grange” bait just
7 kgs of it too. |
| |
|
Andy
Gowan peg 22 another of our
regulars, had unlucky 13 fish, but luckily for
Andy the biggest and best was one of 56lbs-4ozs
a common, caught on the Cell yet again!!
Steve
Charlton >>> peg 9
had a 16 fish haul, his best a mirror of 46lbs-10ozs,
again on 7kgs of the “New Grange”.
Paul
Steer peg 14 missed
his trip a week or more back when caught in traffic
for 6 hours, he managed to make it this time and caught
11 fish on the Source, 3kg of it in fact. |
 |

Andy Gowan 56lb 4oz Common DL2 |
| |

Lee Blanchard 43lb Common DL2 |
 |
Danny
Taylor >>> peg 1 also had 13 fish,
and again his luck was in, with a P.B mirror of 40lbs
and a
common
of
53lbs-8ozs another P.B. Dan used just 5kg of Fish
5 boilies.
Tony
Taylor Bailiffs
had an even dozen (12) for the session, again just
5kg of Fish 5 boilies did the deed for Tony.
Lee
Blanchard peg 6
took 6 fish up to 43lbs-8ozs on Cell or Active-Pineapple
baits.
Dennis
Rick peg 12 took
10 fish up to 38lbs on the D.L.Specials and Cell,
1kgs. |
| |
Dean
Smith peg 13 had 7 fish up to 44lbs on the
Cell.
Andy
Rick peg 16 had
a haul of 19 fish for the week, using a blend of
Cell, Active-8 and pineapple boilies.
Paul
Rowlands >>> peg 19
used 5 kg of Cell to catch 9 fish, the best a mirror
of 41lbs-5ozs. |
 |

Dean Smith 44lb Common DL2 |
| |

Cindy Bouwens 40lb Mirror DL1 |
 |
Lake
1
Top Rod was Dutch angler William
Bouwens with
a good haul of 43 fish. Gables and Chimneys the 2
swims fished, 23x30’s, most of them big ones
and 2x40’s
as well made up Wills haul. He used just 8.5kg of
Dynamite baits, well done Will. We will see you soon
I hope!!
Jim
Lucas >>> 3 Steps,
his best a 41lb-10oz common (No’s not known)
on Fruit and Crab. |
| |
|
|

Rafferty >>> West Point again (No’s
not known) his best a 40lb+ mirror on 7kg of Fruit
and
Crab.
Steve
Lovett “Hornets” had

Bailiff's
Diary: Week 24
w/e 11th September
2009
The weather this
week was reasonable, nice and warm; the air pressure
was high at the start of the week. Sunny days then
overcast and windy towards the end.
We had another great
bunch of lads again this week. As ever bags and sticks
doing well, Snowman rigs working well on 1.
The fishing was a bit
sporadic though, 3 – 4 – 5 did rather
well (later) Lake 2 was slower this week. Lake 1
did a few biggies again! |
| |

Andrew Gage, brace of 40 commons DL1 |
 |
Lake
1
Top Rod this week was our old mate the “Country
Gent” Andrew Gage with a
catch of 31 fish from the “Slope” swim.
Andy tells me it could have been more, but managed to let
16 fish slip the hook!! He still managed to land 5 x 40’s
as well, all fell to A1 baits.
Paul
Leaver “Kingfishers” had
unlucky 13 plus a last minute 50lber has been added
to his list, a 53lb mirror I’m told, as well
as a 42lb common, on the Cell-A-8 combo. |
| |
Adam
Leaver >>> “Snags” had
23 fish, 7 x 30’ and 3 x 40’s again
on the A-8 Cell combo. |
| |
Rael
Bojko and Carrie’s
dad Paul who’s never been fishing before
started off in the Beach, then after a day or so
decided
to move into the “Sunset.”
They shared
takes and landed 15 fish, losing a few as well, especially
as Paul struggled to play, land and hold the fish
as it was all new to him, plus he had some broken
ribs as well!!
|
 |

Rael 50lb Common DL1 |
| |

Paul Nash 58lb 12oz Common DL1 |
 |
Rael’s biggest was
a 51lb-12oz common, however right at the end Paul managed to winkle out a splendid common of 58lbs-12ozs,
there was no way he could pick it up, or hold it,
so Rael did the honours for him.
What an introduction
to fishing or the Dreamlakes!! Rael was using a
plum flavoured creation of the A-8, he can get
what he likes as he works at Mainline (“Get
us some next time Razzler.”)
|
| |
|
|
Andrew
Allen “Chimneys” took
20 fish, including 2 x 40’s nice ones here,
the first a 45lb common then a 48lb common as well,
on the A-8 and S/Scopex.
Lake 3
The Ade Elsdon party took over Lake 3 this week,
Ade comes 3 – 4 times a year, and has done
so since ’96 he tells me, his bunch of lads
took over 20 x 40’s during the week and total
weight of carp was over 3.5 tons, not bad for 8
acre’s. |
 |

Andrew Allen 48lb Common DL1 |
| |

Ade Elsdon 65lb Common DL3 |
 |
Ade landed
17 fish from peg 9 inc. a 48lb common a 50lb common
and topped it of with a biggie of 65lbs; all
of his lads were on Nash S/S.
John
O’Brian peg
11 took 20 fish inc. 3 x 40’s a 42lb mirror
and 2 x 40’s commons of 44lbs and 45lbs.
Dave
Newell peg 16
had 9 fish inc. 2 x 40’s of 41lbs mirror and
a 48lb common.
Tom in peg 8 had 8
up to 40lbs. |
| |

as well.
Richard
Broadway >>> peg
7 also had 20 fish inc. 3 x 40’s up to 44lbs
mirror and a bonus 75lb Cat. |
 |

Tommy Cooper "just like that!" 43lb DL3 |
| |

 |
Lake 4
Craig Sheppard >>> peg 7 took 8 fish, inc. 3 x 40’s
up to 49lbs a mirror.
Richard
Ford peg 8
had a 19 fish catch with carp up to 40lbs, and a
60lb cat
on the Cell-A-8 combo. |
| |
|
Lake 5
Rhys Thomas peg 1 had 18 fish out inc. 3 x 39lbers,
unlucky there, but made up for it with a brace
of 50’s both mirrors of 50lbs and 51lbs on
the D.L.Specials.
Ray
Garrett >>> peg 3 had
15 fish topped by 2 x 40’s of 40lbs and the other
a 46lb Mirror.
|
 |

Rhys Thomas 51lb Mirror DL5 |
| |

Liam Garrett 48lb Mirror DL5 |
 |
Liam
Garrett peg 4 took 8 up to 48lbs a mirror,
the bulk of the stock in 5 is of mirrors.
Lastly over to Lake
2 which was a bit slow for a change. It's
fished well since the start though, half the lads
didn’t
hand in any of their catch reports before leaving,
which doesn’t help my diary reports either.
|
| |
Top
Rod was Rob Wilde, who emailed in the bonus
fish he caught on Friday night which took his total
up
to 31. Rob set up in peg 26 his best a 43lber, which
all fell to either the Fusion or Cell.
A.
Brown had a total of 24 carp all taken on
Mainlines New Grange bait.
R.

Diary: Week 23
w/e 4th September
2009
We had a bit of a
slow start to the week, but some quality fish showing
up. The weather was a bit up and down, making the
fishing very changeable. Most anglers using bags
and stringers with the odd lad spodding chopped baits.
Some of the best catches, coming to anglers using
very little bait! Check out young Harry’s catch
from DL3 for proof of that!!
As you know I go round
the lakes Thurs and Friday to download the photos
from the digital cameras
onto our laptop for the diary download, sadly a lot
of the photos this week were not great, but
I got what I could. |
| |

Tony Gouldsborough 45lb 8oz Mirror DL1 |
 |
Lake
1
Top Rod this week was our old mate
Tony Gouldsborough “Sunset” who
was here for his second week with the family. Tony took

fish which included 15 x 30’s 10 x commons and 5 x
mirrors and 10 40’s including 6 x commons and 4 x 40lb
mirrors up to 45lb – 8ozs.
Tony baited little
and often but still used a fair amount of the Cell
boilies. |
| |
Richard
Pollard “Kingfishers” took a
haul of 25 fish for the holiday, with 30’s
up to 39lbs and a 42lb – 8oz common his best,
all taken on Spicy Tuna.
Stuart
Pollard “Snags” had one less
24 again using the same bait as his brother the
Spicy Tuna. |
| |
Jeremy
Farthing “Beach” had
a whale of a time taking 19 fish that trip, topped
by 6 x 40’s, 3 x 40lb mirrors up to 43lbs
and 3 x 40lb commons, inc. a brace of 45lbers all
fell
to 15kg of the Cell.
”Jays” best
bit of luck came when he lost his car keys on the
Friday
night, we searched the coaches and Jackson’s
car park to no avail, then on the next trip over,
a lady angler struggling for comfort found a bunch
of keys wedged between the seats, “when your
lucks in ad they say." |
 |

Jay Farthing 45lb Common DL1 |
| |

Lewis Farthing 41lb Mirror DL1 |
 |
Lewis
Farthing “West
Bar” used 10kg of Cell to take a total of 10
fish, the best a 40lb mirror.

me. Andy’s best a brace of 40lb commons again
the ever popular Cell doing the “bizzle."
|
| |
|
|
Rob
Pettengell “3 Steps” took a
total of 22 fish a few 30’s up to 39lbs,

the Cell boilies.
Gary

a dozen fish for the week, 30’s up to 39lbs
and yet another 49lber, (there’s been a few
of them this week) this time a common of 49lbs 1oz.
Gary used 15kg of the Cell. |
 |

Rob Pettengell 49lb Common DL1 |
| |
Ellis
Mattey “Haven” had 7 fish using
a variety of baits, but culminating in a 95lb cat “bet
that made your arms ache.”
Further down the bank Nick
Webb “Gables” nicked a dozen
fish out up to 41lbs a common, and also had 2 bonus
cats (if that’s what you can call them?)
one of 45lbs and the other 90lbs on the Scopex
S.L. and Cell. |
| |

Louis Barker 42lb Common DL2 |
 |
Jason
Rust >>> “Unknown” had
14 fish for the week up to 43lb-4ozs on various baits,
25kg

fact, too
many to mention, but not Cell!
Lake 2
This weeks “Top Bombin” award
goes to
Louis Barker with a total
catch of 39 fish, the best a common of 42lb-13ozs.

|
 |

Nick Merralls 40lb Common DL2 |
| |

Captain Joe Pugwash 41lb Mirror DL2 |

nice together m8! Lee took a catch of 11 fish using

Lake
3
Young Harry Brown, 16 years,
chose to fish peg 13, unlucky for some but not for
Harry, whose first
fish was a forty. Harry only caught 10 fish, but
what fish. 40lb commons of 41lb, 44lbs and 46lbs
that would make my week, but no! Harry also went
on to catch 3 x 50’s as well, again all commons
of 51lb, 53lbs and 55lbs, again the Cell doing the
business, but Harry only used 1kg, yes I said 1kg
of bait. Others might of used 50 but just enough
in the right place is all you need!!
