Bailiff's
Diary: Week 21
w/e 21st August
2009
Sorry for the delay,
but Matt's on holiday this week.
The weather this
week was perfect, consistently sunny every day,
ranging from 25 - 30° warm at nights as well,
couldn’t be better. It's those dramatic
changes in the weather, like rain storms, overcast
days
and winds that put a dampener on the fishing.
What we think is good fishing weather back in England,
is the kiss of death here in France, hot, sunny
and little or no wind fishes best!
|

Bailiff's
Diary: Week 20
w/e 14th August
2009
Weatherwise the temps
ranged from 25-30 degrees during the day, a muggy
15-17 at night times, which can make it a bit uncomfortable
to try and sleep in the bag, you get all clammy.
A few of the boys
did really well using a lot of bait, I hear one
of the lads on lake 2 has used over 50kgs of boilies
mind you he’s caught 60-70 fish already and
apparently he reels in at night to get some sleep.
Lon, one of Oryst young sons who’s helping
out for the summer was driving along collecting
the rubbish bags, and came across Andy struggling
with 3 carp on at the same time, one in each hand
and the 3rd between his knees. Some of the other
lads have had 20-30 fish on 20-30kgs of bait, but
again as much as we have the numbers being caught,
the bigger don’t seem to be feeding. 3x50’s
and a 66lb and not that many 40’s, still
that’s fishing, everybody caught, and enjoyed
themselves, and I hope to think they were all well
looked after!
I’ll start
off this week without trying to ramble on again,
sorry lads but I can’t mention everyone,
but we do try to use as many photos as possible,
if yer names not down, your photo maybe!! |
| |

Craig Boxshall 39lb Mirror DL1 |
 |
Lake
1
Top rod on 1 this week is a Barry
Horrowing, (he’s
been coming for years, ace guy.) Barry’s haul
of 27 fish taken from the “East Bar” swim,
a load of 20’s and 8x30’s up to 38lbs,
Baz used 30kgs of A.B.S’s MGM.
Craig
Boxshall “Ladies
Lair” must be Barry’s mate as he’s
on the same bait, the A.B.S.Ti this time. Craig ended
up with a 16 fish haul, 30’s up to 39lb a mirror
and a 40lb common, on just 20kgs of bait. |
| |
Alec
Dumbarton “Haven” caught a total
of 17 fish up to 40lbs common, on Scopex Crab, 15kgs
enough
for Alec.
Alan
Perry >>> “The
Pads” only had half a dozen fish although half
of them were well over 40lbs, all commons of 43lbs,
and a brace of 44lb commons on the Cell.
Steve
Head “Snags” had
10 fish, using 15kg of the Cell.
Ashley

 |
Lee
Rutland “Herbies Hole” winkled
out 14 fish for the duration, the best one of 44lbs-12ozs
on homemade Cell boilies 27½ kgs, Lee tells
me.
Ian
and Carol Maudsley “Unknown” I
think this was their 2nd week still unlucky with
those biggies, although Ian beat his PB twice for
mirrors and common, he’s still coming back
for that 40lber, despite catching 14 fish, on the
D.L.Specials and S.B.Sweetcorn baits.
Thomas
Side “West
Bar” had 16 fish, 15 of them over 30lbs, on
the Cell. |
| |
|
|
Steve
Milner “West Point” took 11 fish
inc. 6x30’s again on the Cell.
Lake 2
This weeks “Top
Bombing” award goes to Andy
Winnall, peg 23,
with a storming catch of 73 fish inc. at present
27-20lbers and 25x 30lbers and a 42lb common, constant
baiting after every fish, 3 on at once on occasions
then reeling in at 11ish to get his head down, God
knows what his tally could have been, if he’d
fished on, but its your holiday do as you will. |
 |

Andy Winnall - just one of 73 fish! |
| |
I know
Zen can’t be bothered to get up at night, so he reels
in too (he’s over here on the 21st August). Andy
used over 50kg of the Cell to take his haul, well done
mate!
Tom Ison, peg 16 another
lad who does well here (he’s in one of our adverts)
tucked himself away at the far end of the lake, taking
a haul of 35 carp on the Cell, yet again.
Someone mentioned in an E-mail that they
thought we mentioned the Cell just to sell it, well
we don’t!!! But it’s so good we can’t
sell enough of it!!! In fact we can’t stock enough
of it. |

 |

Emma Evans 42lb Common DL2 |

Bailiff's
Diary: Week 19
w/e 7th August
2009
Weather-wise this
week saw temps of 32 degrees during the days, and
even 18 degrees at night, the nights were humid,
slightly stormy as well.
Because of the heat
the fish seemed to switch on in the evenings, through
to breakfast. Bags and sticks, tight baiting with
balanced hook baits doing the bizz. The Hi-Viz pop-ups
working with Zigs. Still despite the weather we still
saw 30x40’s on the bank, the biggest a 63lber
from Lake 3, Top catch at present 26 fish (Thursday
tea.)
|
| |

Chris Potter 48lb Common DL1 |
 |
I’ll
start on Lake 1 where Chris Potter with
his 25 fish haul with his best fish a 48lb common,
all fell to
Richworth baits.
Lee
Parker “Kingfishers” had
a total of 16 fish with carp up to 36lbs on Nash
bait.
|
| |
Davis
Holland the “Pads” gets this
weeks “Top Bombing” award

13 x 20’s 9 x 30’s up to 38lbs common,
3 x 40’s up to 47lb and to round it off a
53lb common all caught on the Dreamlake Specials.
I
wish every one could have catches like Dave’s
each week!!! |
